This hike will be a special and exciting collaboration hike with Nitza in Nature! This will be our third event together and we always have an amazing time. We’ll start with a hike, followed by a visit to the winery. If you are not interested in visiting the winery, you are still welcome to hike with us.
Note: Please be on time. We will start promptly at 9 am with intros and stretching and then we will start our hike. Bathrooms will be available at the trailhead parking lot. Cell phone service may be limited in the area so plan accordingly. Carpooling is encouraged.
Location: Stone Mountain State Park - Lower Parking Lot - Stone Mountain Rd, Traphill, NC 28685. Tip: Use the Waze GPS app & type in "lower trailhead stone mountain" to find the lot.
Trail: Lower Parking trailhead lot to Stone Mtn. Falls (section of the Stone Mtn. Loop trail) - Easy-Moderate, 3.7 miles out & back. Views of the historic homestead, the Stone Mtn Dome, & Stone Mountain Falls.

Prepare: Bring lots of water, lunch/snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, hiking boots, & hiking essentials. Dress for the weather. Bring a small first aid kit & prescription medicine (i.e. EpiPen, Asthma inhaler, insulin, etc.) in case of injury or medical emergency.
Winery: Roaring River Vineyards - 493 Brewer Mill Rd, Traphill, NC 28685. Wine tastings & food will be available to participants ages 21 & up. Spots at the Nitza in Nature winery are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all spots are filled, you may join a waitlist in case a spot becomes available. To reserve your place at the winery, please sign up through Nitza in Nature’s Heylo event:

PLEASE TAKE ROUNDHILL CHURCH ROAD to Brewer Mill Road, and use the Stone Archway entrance. AVOID THE BREWER MILL ROAD EXTENSION.
