We don’t wait for those we don’t know are coming. • https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/idaho/crooked-river-trail The Crooked River Trail, located near Idaho City, offers hikers a scenic hike through diverse landscapes, including lush forests and open meadows along the Crooked River. The trail features a mix of smooth paths and more rugged, technical sections. As you hike, you'll enjoy beautiful vistas of the Crooked River and the surrounding wilderness, making this trail a picturesque destination. Parking is quite limited, so we will carpool a maximum of 3 vehicles. We will meet at the greenbelt parking lot at the end of E Warm Springs just before Highway 21. For the trailhead, after turning onto highway 21, drive 48.6 miles East, then turn right onto Crooked River. The parking area is 1.1 miles down and on the right. Due to how limited the parking is and how popular the trail tends to be, we will meet at the carpool location at 6:30 AM. It will take a little over an hour to get there, so we will hopefully start around 7:45. AllTrails says it takes a little under 4 hours to complete. Add another hour for driving back and I hope to be done done around 1:30 PM. Alternatively, we could also stop for lunch in Idaho City. Not sure if anyone wants that or knows a good place.
