OVERVIEW: We'll meet at 6pm for a picnic and to grab a nice viewing spot in the garden behind the Woods Cafe in Cardinham Woods near Bodmin, then at 7:30pm we'll see a 2-hr performance (not including interval) of "Around the World in 80 Days".
THE VENUE: Cardinham Woods is a beautiful location with excellent, wide walking trails (and separate biking trails). Parking for up to 4 hours costs £5.50 (note that they only accept payment by cards at the machines or via the RingGo app, NO cash accepted).
WHAT TO BRING: The cafe closes at 4:30pm, so bring your own picnic food and drink. Also bring a deckchair (ideally one that can be lowered back, which helps not block views for those behind you) and/or a blanket and/or cushions to sit on. I'd also suggest bringing layers of warm clothes, even if it's warm during the day!
THE SHOW: Unflappable English gentleman Phileas Fogg bets his fortune he can circumnavigate the globe in just 80 days. But with runaway trains, unexpected detours, and his bumbling valet Passepartout in tow—not to mention the ever-watchful Detective Fix on their trail—things don’t go quite to plan! From the foggy streets of London to the wilds of India and the lawless American West, Fogg and his loyal crew race against time and chaos.
Buckle up for a madcap, high-speed adventure around the world! Expect chaotic comedy, split-second costume changes, and a whirlwind of accents and antics as three fearless actors bring this global caper to life. The clock is ticking—can they make it back in time?
