Due to the nature of our work, and engagement in it by you our members, our community partner - Maverick - has allocated a number of places for Black Trail Runners members at their Original Mendips race.
About: We return to the stunning Mendips Hills for a third time to bring you the Maverick Original Mendips trail running race. The route follows the West Mendip Way dropping down into the forests of Roweberrow Warren before climbing up to Black Down heathland (the highest hill in the Mendips!). Those brave enough to take on the Long Route will experience breathtaking views from along the top of Cheddar Gorge, stretching out towards Glastonbury and you might even catch a glimpse of the Seven Bridge. Whilst moving through this epic scenery keep an eye out for some of Somerset's rarest and most celebrated wildlife including the herds of feral goats, Soay sheep and Peregrine falcons. Please note, there is no outpost on the Short route.
If you would like to be in with a chance of being selected to run Maverick Original Mendips 2025 on behalf of Black Trail Runners, please complete the form below. The deadline for applications is 23.59pm on 6 June 2025. Successful members will be contacted by 13 June 2025.
