Battle on the Beach XL, Quads Sand Volleyball Tournament
Date: Saturday, May 10, 2025
Time: 8:30 - 12:30 (most teams finish by 12:00).
Format: Intermediate and Advanced Divisions as determined by sign up and pool play.
Pool play and then elimination bracket. Men’s net.
Players must arrive by 8:15. First serve at 9:00.
Cost: FREE
First place teammates in each division get names engraved on the Battle on the Beach trophy. Qualifier points for 1st-6th place teams.
Location: Ocean Beach, San Francisco, Access ramp #15
1001 Great Highway (across from the Dutch windmill and Beach Chalet)
Parking at the beach, bathrooms close by
Game format:
Pool play for seeding then teams placed in elimination bracket
Open hand serve receiving is a fault. (CBVA 15.9). You may open hand serve receive in the AVP. We will go with the CBVA standard or as agreed by both teams.
In pool play games to 21
Rally scoring, switch at 7, play to 21
Call your own net violations
No finger tipping (CBVA 12.4). Balls rebounding off the palm or heel of your hand (roll shots, cuts, etc) are acceptable.
DEADLINE TO REGISTER: One day before game day, May 9, 2025.
If your team arrives later than 8:40 your team may be replaced by a team on the waitlist and you will have to wait until 11:00 to play in the tournament bracket.
