MEET/DIRECTIONS: If you're not familiar with this area, look up directions ahead of time. Meet at Ridge Crest Trailhead towards the end of Mountain Cove Rd. Turn on Reserve Street. Turn left on Mountain Cove Rd. Continue past the Military Reserve Cemetery on the left. Continue past the Freestone Trailhead that has the bathroom on the right. No guarantees on weather or trail conditions. Be prepared. Turn around when you need to. Out-and-back hike. HIKE: Approximately 5 miles roundtrip with 1,200' elevation gain depending on how far you want to go. Mostly all uphill. Gradual, but with some steeper sections. PACE: Not for slow pace hikers unless you know your own way. I'm not responsible to wait too long at each trail junction. Trails we will be taking. Up Ridge Crest, turn left to cut across in front of the Military Reserve Archery Range and turn right heading up Three Bears, turn left on Freestone Ridge and go as far as you want before turning around. 2 1/2 hours or less to complete depending on your pace and how far you go. NOTE: Ridge Crest Trailhead is marked wrong on Google Maps, but this map link should be correct. MEET/DIRECTIONS: If you're not familiar with this area, look up directions ahead of time. BRING: Water, hat, snack, layered clothing, trekking poles, and whatever else you think you need. NO restroom facilities at trailhead, but there is one at the Freestone trailhead.
