▶ What’s it about
🔴 Trajineras Xochimilco
Xochimilco is one of the oldest sites in Mexico City, especially the trajineras, as they are the only pre-Hispanic transportation that remains and continues to function as such. At that time, they did not look like they do now, because they have evolved according to cultural modifications and nowadays most of the boats are used to show the old farm lands (Chinampas) to visitors.
🔴 Mixquic
The Day of the Dead in Mixquic is a mix of pre-Hispanic and colonial traditions. It stands out for its symbolic offerings in homes, the ritual of the famous Alumbrada in the local cemetery and the spiritual concept that frames the entire celebration.
