Battle on the Beach XXXII, Doubles Sand Volleyball Tournament
Date: Saturday, September 14, 2024
Time: 9:00 - 2:30 (most teams finish by 1:00).
Format: Two divisions - Upper and Lower
Pool play and then elimination bracket. Lower division players must arrive by 8:45, Upper division players must arrive by 9:00 First serve shortly after you arrive.
Cost: $20 player
Location: Ocean Beach, San Francisco, Access ramp #15
1001 Great Highway (across from the Dutch windmill and Beach Chalet)
Parking at the beach, bathrooms close by
Game format:
Pool play for seeding then teams placed in elimination bracket
Open hand receiving is acceptable (There is no rule that says that this is illegal. Call your own doubles, lifts, carries.)
Rally scoring, switch at 7, play to 21
Call your own net violations
No open hand tipping (No “stopping” the ball and redirecting. Balls rebounding off your hand - roll shots, cuts, etc are acceptable.)
Registration not confirmed until payment is received.
DEADLINE TO REGISTER: One day before game day, September 13, 2024.
Loss of 10 points in first match if late by 10 minutes - arriving after 9:10. Loss of 1 point for every minute after, Forfeit of first match if 20 minutes late.
