About
Easy Kid and Dog friendly (must be in leash —dogs not kids) trail along the Etowah River
Dellinger Park Loop:
Experience this 2.0-mile loop trail near Cartersville, Georgia. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 38 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, running, and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

Sam Smith Park:
This route is completely paved with little turn-offs to see the river. It's an easy walk and pretty in the morning with deers and fog rolling over the cotton fields. Accessibility: There do not appear to be any designated accessible spaces in the large unpaved parking lot off of Douthit Ferry Road at the east end of the trail. There are at least 4 designated van-accessible spots with striped access aisles in the small paved lot marked with a waypoint. The trail surface is paved, smooth, and typically at least 6 feet wide. The estimated grade is mostly gentle (5% or less). This trail will likely be navigable for most trail goers using wheelchairs/mobility equipment or strollers. There are benches along the route for resting.
